Our meetings provide a safe, confidential space to share concerns, to get information and to get support. Our meetings are attended by parents, family, and friends of gays, lesbians, bisexual, and transgender persons, as well as gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people themselves. Our meetings are free and we welcome everyone. The PFLAG Cornhusker Board of Directors is responsible for PFLAG Meetings. Each regular meeting has a topic and usually a guest speaker or panel. Meeting Structure:
Program / Presentation 7 - 8pm We all gather for the evening program and / or speaker(s) .Support Groups 8 -9pm We break into smaller, more focused support groups. Each group is facillitated by an experienced PFLAG member, often a board member. Our support groups are not intended as therapy groups. Group participants are expected to adhere to our Confidentiality Policy. Group participants are encouraged to ask questions, share their personal experiences and offer support. Our groups include a parents/family group; a bisexual group; a transgender group; a straight spouse group; a gay & lesbian group. Everyone is welcome to attend and participate in a support group of their choice. Longtime PFLAG members often attend different support groups as a way to stay informed about issues and concerns of the named group.
